UCB’s Community Health Fund supports two UK charities between 2026-2028
- UCB’s global Community Health Fund provides €600,000 support in the UK
- Homeless charities Centrepoint and Pathway to receive €300,000 each over three years
- Community Health Fund pledges more than €3.5 million to support 12 charities worldwide
Slough (UK), 13 April 2026 – UCB’s global Community Health Fund is supporting two UK charities – Centrepoint and Pathway – with €600,000 in its latest round of funding which is supporting 12 organisations worldwide with more than €3.5 million over the next three years (2026-2028).
The Fund, which was established in 2020 and is administered by the Belgium-based King Baudouin Foundation, was founded to address health inequities amongst vulnerable populations focussing on physical and mental health and social wellbeing.
Following a short pause during 2025 when UCB and the King Baudouin Foundation took some time to re-focus delivery of the Fund; the Community Health Fund is back this year with a refreshed approach supporting fewer charities over a longer period to support lasting impact.
And in the UK youth homeless charity Centrepoint, which supports thousands of young people and campaigns to end youth homelessness and inclusion health charity Pathway, which works to improve the health and wellbeing of people experiencing homelessness, will both receive funding through the Fund.
Richard Banks, Senior Manager of Centrepoint’s Mental Health Support Service, said: “We are so grateful for the support of UCB’s Community Health Fund, which will help ensure more young people experiencing homelessness can access the mental health support they need when it matters most.
“Homelessness can have a profound impact on a young person’s mental wellbeing, and without confidence and good mental health, it becomes even harder for them to move out of homelessness and build fulfilling lives. That’s why this funding is so important. It will help our Mental Health Support Service continue its vital work, providing trauma informed care that focuses on understanding each young person’s experiences and supporting them to build the skills and confidence they need to move towards independence.”
Pathway CEO, Alex Bax, said: “We are enormously grateful to the UCB’s Community Health Fund for their shared commitment to tackling the appalling health inequities faced by people experiencing homelessness. Major barriers to accessing the right healthcare result in preventable diseases going untreated and, tragically, people dying on average 30 years younger than the general population1.
“UCB’s generous support will help us build on our work supporting the NHS to deliver equitable, compassionate and effective healthcare for the most excluded in society. Our models of specialist, multidisciplinary care are proven to change people’s lives and strengthen health services2.”
Xavier Hormaechea, Secretary General oof the UCB Community Health Fund, added: “After taking time in 2025 to listen, reflect and rethink how we can make the biggest difference, I am happy to share that we are moving forward with a refreshed approach for 2026.
“This next phase means partnering with fewer organisations but building deeper, longer-term relationships with each of them. By providing more meaningful support, over more time, we hope to help create change that truly lasts. By focusing our support where it can make the greatest difference, I hope we help these organisations create fairer health outcomes and brighter futures for the people they serve.”
During 2026–2028, the Fund will support 12 organisations in countries where UCB has a strong presence. Each organisation will receive €100,000 per year for three years - €300,000 in total - giving them stability and space to plan, grow, and focus on what matters most: the people they serve.
