Contracted Services UK Patient Organisations 2015

UK Patient Organizations

Clause 27.8 of the 2016 ABPI Code requires Pharmaceutical companies to make publicly available, at a national or European level, a list of patient organizations that it has engaged to provide significant contracted services.

 

The following list details all patient organizations that we have contracted with on or after 1st January 2015 until the 31st December 2015. Total fee for contracted services (in UK pound sterling & euros) for the specified period for each patient organization along with details of services appears after the description of support.

1.      Beat Parkinson’s

 

UCB paid honoraria for 2 of its members to attend an internal UCB meeting as advisors.

2.      The Cure Parkinson’s Trust

 

UCB paid honoraria for a representative of the organization to speak at 3 UCB organized meetings and an internal advisory board.

UCB paid honoraria for 2 representatives of the organization to speak at a UCB organized meeting.

UCB paid honoraria for the provision of speakers who shared their experience of epilepsy at an internal training course and an advisory board meeting.

5.      Matthew’s Friends

 

This is an organization specializing in Medical Ketogenic Dietary Therapies for epilepsy and other neurological conditions. UCB paid an honorarium for a representative of the organization to speak at a UCB organized meeting.

6.      NASS (National Ankylosing Spondylitis Society)

 

UCB paid honoraria and expenses for a representative of the organization to speak at 3 UCB organized meetings.

UCB contracted NRAS to offer information and support to patients as part of a patient support program.

UCB paid honoraria for members of the organization to speak at an internal training event and attend an advisory board meeting.

UCB contracted RNIB to provide expertise on alternative formats, Braille, large print and audio for patient information leaflets.

UCB paid an employee of Epilepsy Scotland to speak at two UCB organised meetings (and reimbursed their travel). The objective of these talks was to share the patients’ experiences of living with this condition.

UCB paid an employee of Epilepsy Society to speak at two UCB internal meetings (and reimbursed their travel). The objective of these talks was to share the patients’ experiences of living with this condition.

3.    LUPUS Europe
 
Continuing the "Living with Lupus"- activities to bring focus to how it is to live with lupus, the 2014 initiative was directed towards "Treatment";  Workshops for patients, academia and UCB during EULAR and the LUPUS EUROPE Convention came together for a patients' panel meeting on Treatment, where concrete results will be implemented in actions in 2015.

An employee of this organisation provided advice, the objective which was to gain a better understanding of this disease.

UCB jointly sponsored 3 meetings with Parkinson’s UK in 2014. UCB paid third parties to cover speaker fees, venue costs & catering at these meetings. Please note no monies were paid directly to Parkinson’s UK in relation to these meetings
